3. Youth and women participation - "If we no carry youth and women enter politics, we dey waste our future. Dem be the majority."

The matter start wen Umahi dey inspect federal road projects for Ebonyi State.

Journalists ask am weytin Obi tok wey trend last week. Obi tok for interview say virtually everytin wey e dey do for living, government dey frustrate am. E even tok say if dem get chance, dem fit mak sure say e no dey alive before 2027.

Na there Umahi vex.

E say: “Nobody want Obi dead. E no mak sense. We all want am alive mak e contest this election and watch himself lose again.”

E add say wetin dey fear Obi be say e think South East na him own papa property because of 2023 election. Umahi call that one “accident of history.”

According to Umahi tok, the game don change. E say Tinubu administration don do plenty projects for South East and give South East people appointments. So many people for there don see say following Tinubu dey favor dem pass.

In short: “Obi go contest, but Tinubu go win.”

WHO BE PETER OBI FOR 2027 MATTER?

Peter Obi no be small name again for Nigeria politics.

For 2023, e enter race under Labour Party and scatter everywhere. Young people, market women, tech bros, church people — everybody shout “Obidient!”

Although INEC announce say e come 3rd, Obi supporters no gree. Dem say the election get mago mago. 

But one thing dey clear say Obi build serious political base. 

Since that time, e no keep quiet. E dey talk about economy, insecurity, corruption, governance. Anytime food price go up, Obi go tweet. Anytime government do something, Obi go react.

So na why people dey ask: “Obi go contest again for 2027?”

Obi never officially declare. But everybody know say e dey prepare.

TINUBU OWN SIDE NOW?

Now mak we talk about the oda person for this fight: Oga Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Tinubu win 2023 election. E beat Atiku and Obi. Since e enter, e don do big-big reforms.

1. Fuel subsidy remove - That one make fuel price jump from N185 go N600+ 

2. Dollar float - Naira fall, things become expensive

3. Tax reforms - Government dey try get more money

Government people dey say “this reforms go help Nigeria go long road. We dey cut waste and save money.”

Despite the wahala, APC and Tinubu supporters dey confident. Dem dey say “by 2027, the reforms go start yield results. Economy go better.”

Na why Umahi talk say Tinubu get political strength to win again.

2027 POLITICS DON START EARLY

Omo, 2027 still far, but politicians don dey sweat.

Why? Because everybody know say this next election go be war.

For APC side: Dem want hold power. Dem dey say “make we complete 8 years.”

For PDP side: Atiku still dey there. Dem dey ask if e go contest again or dem go bring new face.

For Labour/Obidient side: Dem dey ask if Obi go run again, and if e go run under Labour Party or join coalition.

For NNPP side: Kwankwaso dey there too. E get Kano and North.

THE BIGGEST QUESTION: UNA GO UNITE OR NOT?

This na the koko.

For 2023, opposition scatter. Atiku collect some votes. Obi collect some. Kwankwaso collect Kano. APC just waka go with less than 40%.

But if for 2027, Obi + Atiku + Kwankwaso + others join body, e fit be wahala for APC.

But if dem continue fight themselves, Tinubu go just smile dey enter second term.

That na why Obi, Kwankwaso and Seriake Dickson meeting yesterday dey important. People dey say dem dey plan coalition. But coalition dey get leadership wahala already.

As soon as Umahi talk am, social media catch fire.

Obidients dey reply like this:

“Umahi na betrayal. E forget say e be PDP before.”  

“2023 dem rig. 2027 we go guard our votes.”  

“Tinubu reforms don kill people. Una go see for 2027.”

APC people dey reply like this:

“Umahi talk truth. Tinubu don work.”  

“Obi na noise maker. No structure.”  

“Mak him contest and lose again.”

Presidency own sef join. Bayo Onanuga call Obi “pathological and serial liar” say e dey invent stories to get sympathy.

BUT NA ONLY SOUTH EAST MATTER BE THIS?

Umahi talk about South East because e be son of the soil. E be former governor of Ebonyi.

E say because Tinubu dey do roads and give South East appointments, people for there don dey shift.

But politics no dey work like that. 

Yes, federal projects dey important. But people also dey look food price, security, jobs.

If market woman for Onitsha no fit buy rice, e no go matter whether new road dey. She go ask “wetin Tinubu do for me?”

I talk to some political people yesterday. This na wetin dem tell me:

Analyst 1: “Umahi dey play politics. E wan show say e loyal to Tinubu. But to say Obi go lose again na too early. 2027 still far.”

Analyst 2: “Obi problem na structure. If e no join coalition, e go find am hard. But if coalition work, APC go shake.”

Analyst 3: “The real issue be economy. If by 2026 food price drop, Tinubu go get edge. If e remain like this, opposition go get chance.”

WETIN THIS MEAN FOR YOU AND ME

You go ask “na me dem dey talk about?”

Yes o. Because 2027 go decide plenty things:

1. Fuel price - If same government continue, wetin go happen?

2. Jobs - Which government get plan for youth?

3. Security - Who go fit handle bandits and kidnappers?

4. Dollar and Naira - Who get better economic plan?

So whether Umahi dey right or wrong, the decision go dey your hand.

THE TRUTH ABOUT ELECTION

Make we no lie ourselves.

For Nigeria, election no dey finish until INEC announce result.

2023 people say Obi go win. E no happen. 

2015 people say Jonathan go win. E no happen.

So Umahi prediction fit be correct. E fit be wrong.

Plenty things fit change before 2027:

- New alliance fit form  

- Economy fit boom or crash

- New candidate fit enter
